Lord, You know that I am growing older. Keep me from becoming talkative and possessed with the idea that I must express myself on every subject. Release me from the craving to straighten out everyone's affairs. Keep me from the recital of endless detail. Give me wings to get to the point. Seal my lips when I am inclined to tell of my aches and pains. They are increasing with the years and my love to speak of them grows sweeter as time goes by. Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be wrong. Make me thoughtful but not nosey; helpful but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom and experience it does seem a pity not to use it all. But You know, Lord, that I want a few friends at the end. Amen. ~~~~~~~ Phil Byrnes, a Regency resident, stepped up to do our program after our scheduled speaker, Libby Klein, was not able to come due to a death in her family. Libby will be back for the June program. Phil Byrnes, a Regency resident, presented an interesting program about Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbots in terms we could all understand. He answered a lot of questions and invited members to attend his presentation in March sponsored by the Education Club where he will go into greater depth on AI. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Congratulations to our Dodi Myers Scholarship Raffle Winners!! Dear RWC Members. The Regency Women’s Club had a successful year 2024-2025, with 183 members. As we enter our 20th year, it is essential to highlight the significant contributions that the Regency Women’s Club has made to our community. In the last 10 years, we have donated approximately $122,010 to various charities and given over $68,248 in scholarships. These numbers do not include special projects we have done throughout the years. As we enter a new term, we would like to acknowledge your role in our successful 2024-2025 season, and the entire Board for their hard work and dedication to our charities. Our accomplishments for this past year were:
Another major accomplishment was that the RWC became a 501(c)3 charitable organization. This means that any donations you give to the Women's Club can be tax-deductible. For our 20th Anniversary, Nancy Converse and the Program Committee have been meeting to plan some exciting, innovative programs and menus for our monthly meetings. I hope to see all of you at our first luncheon on September 4th. We are always seeking new members and new ideas. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to seeing you at our September luncheon. Liz Anderson Executive President, Regency Women’s Club Thank you from the Regency Women’s Club As you may know, the RWC’s primary mission is to serve the community through charitable projects and fundraisers. The Regency at Dominion Valley community never ceases to amaze us through your generosity and caring support of these efforts. This past year you have helped us meet, and more often, exceed our goals. The food and monetary donations, donations of teddy bears, coat and school supplies, blood donations, Holiday Gift Program and more have made a difference in our surrounding community. Every single thing you do helps someone else. For that we are truly grateful. You are the bright lights. |
