Our very own Sue Reitzig lead us in an activity in keeping with our Mother's Day theme. She read the Wikipedia definition of a mother, and then mentioned some characteristics of a good mother. Each table was to come up with a list of those who have the same characteristics but aren't mothers. Each table read their list aloud. It was interesting to see the variety of responses, many the same, but some different. Mother Teresa topped many lists. ~~~~ Elaine Hughes, Chair of the Nominating Committee, conducted the election of officers for the 2024-2025 season. The following slate was passed by acclamation: President: Liz Anderson Executive Vice President: Carol Bowen VP Community Service: Joan Hughes VP Programs: Nancy Converse VP Fundraising: Elaine Hughes Treasurer: Ethel Muter Recording Secretaries: Hattie Thurman and Anne Pederson Corresponding Secretary: Jane Brown ~~~~ Congratulations to our raffle winners: Patti Sommers, Peggy Grady, Kenna Cuomo, Sharon Goodson, and Hattie Thurman! As you may know, the RWC’s primary mission is to serve the community through charitable projects and fundraisers. The Regency at Dominion Valley community never ceases to amaze us through your generosity and caring support of these efforts. This past year you have helped us meet, and more often, exceed our goals. The food and monetary donations, donations of teddy bears, coat and school supplies, blood donations, Holiday Gift Program and more have made a difference in our surrounding community. Every single thing you do helps someone else. For that we are truly grateful. You are the bright lights. Thanks to so many of you for coming out, volunteering, and supporting our club and the charitable works we do every month. We have begun our Membership Drive for the 2023-2024 season. The new form is here for printing. |
