Representatives from the winery will discuss the winery's beginnings, its wine, and more.
Established in 2012 as a scenic working farm vineyard, The Winery at Bull Run lies on 225 acres adjacent to Manassas National Battlefield Park and next door to an equestrian farm. The winery itself was built to represent the two types of historic barns in Northern Virginia—a smaller 1800s-style barn and a larger 1920s-era dairy barn complete with a hayloft and hay lift cable and beam. Our passion for the history of the land led us to create the largest working farm in Fairfax County and to salvage the old stone foundation of the Hillwood Mansion, burned in a fire some 30 years ago—now a perfect altar and elevated stage for outdoor wedding ceremonies and events.

The ARTfactory was founded in 1984 by a group of artists and art lovers with the goal of enriching the quality of life in the Northern Virginia region. In 2002, the ARTfactory relocated to the Hopkins Candy Factory building in Manassas and has become the cornerstone of the downtown arts community. Currently, we offer an art gallery, theatre arts, visual arts education, dance classes, Arts on the Go™, summer camps and SummerSounds Concert Series.

Honoring our Female Veterans
Bethanie Pitsky, Lady Vet founder, served six years in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 2005. She used her GI Bill to earn a BS in Exercise Science and started a yoga business focused on helping everyday people reduce stress and find peace.
She later founded Lady Vet to raise the visibility of women Veterans and broaden the public’s perspective of what a Veteran looks like. Launched in 2020, Lady Vet is a trademarked brand that encourages women of all eras, branches, and backgrounds to speak up and be proud of their Veteran identity.
Bethanie writes nearly all of the material on the Lady Vet Blog and loves helping bring a voice to the individual experiences of women who served.
In her personal time, she daydreams about travel, sings loud in the car, hikes whenever possible, and pets all the dogs.

Willing Warriors and Crossroads Connections

Our program for the RWC September lunch will feature our two chosen Charities we have committed to raise much needed funds for through the creative efforts of our Fundraising Committee. They are:
Willing Warriors – Willing Warriors Retreat at Bull Run provides cost-free retreat stays and programs that positively impact wounded, ill, and injured service members, disabled Veterans, and their families.
Sarah Ford, Executive Director for Willing Warriors will tell us more about its Retreat Expansion and how the retreat has helped “Willing Warriors’ suffering from PTSD “Post Traumatic Stress & Traumatic Brain Injury, the “invisible” wounds that can challenge an entire family for a lifetime overcome day to day challenges and nurture their recovery process by having a chance to relax, bond and enjoy quality time with their family.
Crossroads-Connection - This is a Christian community service organization that provides a Weekend Food Program for food insecure children in the public schools in the local PWC area. Its goal is to alleviate hunger as an obstruction to learning.
Andy Zembower, Director of Crossroads Connection will give us further insight on how its program has made a positive impact on the lives of so many children in need.
